Cistus crispus is a frost-hardy evergreen shrub with a rounded, bushy form and grey-green leaves. In summer purple-red saucer-shaped flowers with yellow stamens appear. A good plant for sunny mixed or shrub borders. It has a long flowering period so gives color year round. Best grown in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position.
