Cuphea ignea ‘Coan Scarlet’

Cuphea ignea ‘Coan Scarlet’ is a subtropical  ground cover from Mexico. It is evergreen in mild climates and 2 cm tubular red flowers with white tips appear from spring to autumn. It is often called the cigarette plant as the flowers look like burning cigarettes. Cuphea  ignea ‘Coan Scarlet’ prefers a sunny location and is hardy once established. This quickly growing plant has almost continuous supply of bee attracting flowers and gives appeal to your border year round.
