Olearia paniculata or Akiraho is a NZ native evergreen large shrub or small tree with a maximum height of 6 meters. The wavy leathery leaves are yellowish-green and fragrant flowers are borne in autumn which are sweet smelling.
It is a very hardy plant. As it thrives well in exposed windy sites it can easily be used as a windbreaker. Clips well and is often used as a fast growing hedge.
Recommended spacing for a hedge is 70 to 100 cm apart.
