Acaena ‘Purpurea’ is a NZ native ground cover with attractive mauve purple colored fern like foliage.In spring tiny cream flowers appear which are followed by eye-catching, spiny red-purple seed heads. Acaena is a very hardy evergreen plant that thrives best in moist, well drained to dry soil in full sun or part shade.
