Description
Olearia traversii or Chatham Island Ake Ake is a tough, quick growing upright evergreen NZ native shrub. It has glossy leaves with silvery-white in the underside. In summer daisy-like flowers appear on pannicles
It is a very hardy plant. As it thrives well in exposed windy sites it can easily be used as a windbreaker. Clips well and is often used as a fast growing hedge. Will only tolerate light frost.
Recommended spacing for a hedge is 40-50 cm apart.
