Description
Ophiopogon ‘Silver Mist’ (often called variegated mondo grass) is a compact, evergreen ornamental grass prized for its elegant silver-striped foliage. Growing in neat clumps to around 20–30 cm tall and 25–35 cm wide, this low-maintenance perennial forms arching, strap-like leaves edged in creamy white and soft green. In late summer, it may produce small, pale lilac flowers followed by dark berries.
Ideal for shade and partial shade gardens, Ophiopogon ‘Silver Mist’ thrives in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. It is drought-tolerant once established and suitable for borders, ground cover, rock gardens, and container planting. Hardy in mild to temperate climates, this versatile plant adds year-round texture and contrast to garden beds and landscape designs.
