Since we are all in lock down it is hard to get good garden design. We will be severely limited in our ability to come around and help you with your garden. That is why we launched a new service called the Virtual Garden Consultation. Using the wonders of technology we visit people’s homes using remote video connections.
Garden design gone virtual. How it works.
After a brief introduction and a quick chat about what people expect to get out of the consultation the client walks around their garden and points the camera at the area’s where there are questions. With a bit of instructions here and there it is actually quite easy to get a good idea about what is and is not possible.
Annemarie, our Director and plant expert has done several sessions where the questions asked range from things like “I have this shrub, how do I best prune it?” to “See that corner there, it looks very bland. What can I do with that?” Clients are happy and people get much needed to make the best of these times.
It was much better than expected. I now have a much better idea about what to do with my backyard.

With the benefit of digital we can not offer our services throughout New Zealand. We even had a few bookings from our home country The Netherlands where people also are in lock down.
I don’t imagine sitting on the couch forever telling people what to plant but I am really happy to be able to see other gardens again and talk to people about gardening. I look forward to the next one every time. It is the best thing I could have hoped for.
Annemarie, Director of Maryflower
We’ve had a lot of requests and people are clearly interested in getting some great pointers how to make the best of this time in their garden.
